My extraordinary routine – as told to Kill Your Darlings magazine

March 7, 2018 Carly Findlay 1 Comment

A couple of weeks ago I talked about my work routine to Madeleine Dore from Extraordinary Routines for Kill Your Darlings. If you’re interested in how I fit it all in, this article is for you!

I talked about balancing it all – my new job at Melbourne Fringe, book writing, where I work, and what I do on a day I am speaking. I also addressed the loneliness that can come with the work I do. And writing that results in publication really does take time.

‘It takes time, it takes work, things don’t just happen overnight. That’s something I have to keep relearning myself, but perhaps it also applies when it comes to other people’s expectations, too – it’s a lesson we all have to learn.’

The day it was published, I met Madeleine IRL at a Melbourne Writers Festival party. She was dressed so fabulously! We love our florals!

Thanks for featuring me, KYD! What an honour!

If you want to find out more about my book writing process and how to be involved in my #BookSquad, please sign up to my newsletter. I’m trying to issue them fortnightly.

Not really extraordinary other than you both looking like floral couches.
