Frocktober: day one – glitter bomb

Day one of Frocktober. Glitter bomb.

I guess you could say cancer was like a glitter bomb. Less glitter, though.

In June 2024, I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer. It turned my life upside down – I never expected the symptoms I was having would mean it was cancer. I had a full uterectomy which brought on early menopause, and then chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I’m happily cancer free now, and I’m doing all I can to stay healthy and happy.

I’ll be Frocking up every day in October – to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), as well as raising awareness about Ovarian Cancer.

I feel incredibly grateful to be alive – there is no early detection test for Ovarian Cancer, and survival rates are poor. I am also honoured to be an ambassador for Frocktober, and am appreciative that so many brands and generous donors have contributed to the cause.

This incredible outfit is mostly from my wardrobe, but it was styled by Karinda Mutabazi. I love it so much.
