•FROCKTOBER•
Did you know that Frocktober began 19 years ago? 🥳
Blending fashion with fundraising, a group of 10 friends joined forces to raise $200 for ovarian cancer research in the first year. It’s since gone from strength to strength, and in 2025, the campaign raised more than $1 million for ovarian cancer research through the OCRF.

The day after I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer in 2024, the spiritual care worker came to visit me, and she asked me about my work and interests. She suggested I do Frocktober due to my advocacy work, and my love of fashion. I knew about Frocktober through friends who previously took part. And so I did – I was undergoing chemo when I did my first Frocktober. It was a great way to process my feelings in real time, educate about Ovarian Cancer and raise money for the OCRF. Wearing fabulous dresses, even on the hard days, made me feel a little better. I had lots of time to play dress ups – I love these fits, and my bald head! And now I’m a Frocktober ambassador. Here are some pics from that time in 2024.
And I’ll be frocking up every day this month – sharing my story and some facts. Let’s frocking do this.
